Best of all, you’ll have the chance to meet live Australian insects and even hold a stick insect!

Insects are the most diverse group of animals on Earth, and this interactive workshop showcases some of their most fascinating features. Examine preserved specimens from around the world and discover the incredible variety of shapes, colours, and adaptations found in the insect kingdom.

🐜 Meet Live Australian Insects

Get up close with a variety of live insects, including:

  • Giant stick insects
  • Leaf insects
  • Preying mantids
  • Other local Australian species

Visitors will have the opportunity to observe these incredible creatures firsthand and even hold a stick insect during the session.

The workshop coincides with the launch of The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards exhibition at Redcliffe Museum. After learning about insects, visitors can explore a collection of hilarious and heartwarming wildlife photographs showcasing nature at its most entertaining.
